 Velan
is pleased to announce that on August 5th 2002 Velan Valves
Ltd. —Velan's U.K. subsidiary in Leicester, England—acquired
the business of Plenty Steam Products from General Signal.
Plenty Steam Products manufactures a comprehensive range of
steam traps which were the original design of Mr A.K. Velan,
President and CEO of Velan. Velan sold the product line to
Plenty in 1987 to focus on the growing demand for its valves.
Mr. Brian Hall, Managing Director of Velan U.K., says, "This
is a very exciting development for us. The inclusion of steam
traps and allied equipment will enhance our range of manufactured
product in the U.K. This will also give us the opportunity
to increase our presence and sales to the world market. Velan
will bring additional sales and marketing expertise to the
business as well as its considerable engineering, research
and development capabilities."
