temperature metal-seated ball valve of rugged, one-piece
construction, designed for power and process applications
that require reliable, long-lasting performance. This valve's
patented design incorporates a combination of innovative

service in vent, drain, blow-off, blowdown, reheat and instrument

 Velan
is pleased to announce a reentry into the steam trap market
with the acquisition of Plenty Steam Products, based in Leicester,
England. Velan started manufacturing bi-metallic steam traps,
patented by founder and CEO A.K. Velan, in 1950, before selling
the business to Plenty in 1987 to focus on the growing demand
for our valves. Now Velan has reacquired the product line
to complement our strong offering of products for power, petrochemical,
refining and general process industries. These high quality,
reliable, yet competitively priced products, will be marketed
worldwide by Velan Valves Ltd, England.

 Velan
and McJunkin, North America's leading distributor of pipe,
valves and fittings have established a distribution agreement
for cast carbon, stainless and alloy gate, globe and check
valves across the United States, with the exception of the
Gulf Coast. After a careful review of each other's capabilities,
products and overall strength, Velan and McJunkin forged a
partnership that will bring a unique value proposition to
the market for industrial valves.

 European
customers will be happy to know that Velan is fully compliant
with the new requirements of the European Pressure Equipment
Directive 97/23/EC (PED). According to the new requirements,
all valves greater than 1" put into service in the EU
after May 29 of this year are to be CE marked. All plants
in North America, France, Portugal and Korea were approved
by Bureau Veritas several months ago.

 After
being in production for over a year, we are very pleased
with the Torqseal product offering available today. Our
customers have responded very positively to the Torqseal
Triple-Offset Metal-Seated Butterfly Valve, to the point
where user acceptance has grown steadily. To learn more
