 As
power plants look to reduce maintenance costs, the replacement
of seat rings on gate valves is becoming economically more
and more attractive. Technological advances in robotics, 3D
computerized simulation, machine welding processes and specialized
machine tooling have turned what was once considered science
fiction into reality. Velan has recently partnered with Global
Field Services for a series of in-line seat replacements for
nuclear power plant valves, successfully employing techniques
that shortened repair times and reduced repair costs.

new API 602 Forged Steel Gate, Globe and Check Valve catalog
(SFV-2003) is now available for online viewing and ordering.
Although Velan has become a leading supplier of these valves,
with over 50 years of manufacturing experience, we continue
to expand and improve on the small forged steel valve product
line. New in this catalog are: 45° inclined globe valves;
fabricated gate, globe and check valves; and increased infomation
on our valves for HF Acid service.
