Since Velan was established over 50 years ago, as Velan Engineering, the company has grown to become a world leading manufacturer of industrial valves. Today, despite having dropped Engineering from the name, Velan remains true to its roots as a leader in engineered valves. Velan's extensive engineering and research and development capabilities have helped us develop and produce valves for the world's most challenging environments, including delayed coker units; mining autoclaves; nuclear power stations; and supercryogenics. Learn more in February's Valve World magazine feature story.

5. High Pressure Steam Trapping
Steam trapping of high pressure steam systems in fossil or nuclear power stations requires serious consideration. Steam traps must have sufficient discharge capacity of air and water during warm-up, but must prevent leakage of high pressure steam which is very costly and can damage downstream equipment. Velan steam traps were first introduced over 50 years ago, with a revolutionary design particularly well-suited for the specific requirements of high pressure steam trapping in the power, process and marine industries. Today, Velan's unique bimetal technology makes Velan Type N and SPF steam traps the most suitable for handling condensate at high pressure.
