 Velan
S.A.S., Velan's French subsidiary, has produced a 42"
butt weld end side-entry butterfly valve for LNG service-the
largest valve of this style ever manufactured anywhere. The
valve proved itself in several production tests, including
a seat leakage test, which it passed with zero leakage in
both the preferred and non-preferred directions. The 42"
valve is part of a shipment of about 80 stainless steel cryogenic
butterfly valves to a new LNG terminal in Bilbao, Spain. Ranging
in size from 10" to 42", these valves use Velan's
side-entry design combined with a high performance, patented,
metallic flexible seat. Velan, globally recognized as a leader
