Reporting to the General Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:
Ø Supervise, coordinate and plan all manufacturing activities in the plant, including those pertaining to the warehouses, shipping, receiving and maintenance;
Ø Supervise, train and motivate employees to ensure that KPIs are met and that performance meets expectations;
Ø Use Lean methods and processes to optimize costs and performance (lean manufacturing);
Ø Hire, train and coach (mentor) direct reports to meet business objectives. Conduct performance assessments and evaluate team members;
Ø Solve production or process problems, and modify schedules to ensure deadlines are met;
Ø Determine resource levels and organize work shifts to ensure deadlines are met.
Ø Implement corporate policies and procedures, and collective agreement provisions;
Ø Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance;
Ø Ensure the implementation of and compliance with safety policies, procedure and practices;
Ø Perform a variety of other tasks.
Requirements
Ø Good knowledge of various concepts, practices and procedures related to the field;
Ø Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
Ø Planning, leadership and change management skills;
Ø Good knowledge of current quality standards and requirements in the industry;
Ø Bachelor degree in a relevant field, preferably mechanical or industrial engineering;
Ø A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in the field, including a minimum of 5 years at this level in a union environment;
Ø Good knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
