Velan is looking for a candidate to fill the position of a Boring Mill Journeyman (night shift) at its Montreal plant. (night shift) at its Montreal plant.Key Responsibilities
- Perform all machining operations, including all types of parts on boring machines in accordance with drawings, sketches and other verbal and written instructions.
- Handle material and equipment manually or by means of appropriate lifting and transporting devices. (In accordance with health and safety procedures - prevent damage to machined products)
- Work within required tolerances (speed, adjustment, and correction)
- Submit machined parts for inspection.
- Verify visually or by measuring and calibrating, the results of machining operations in accordance with drawings and quality requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications and skills- DEP in machining.
- A minimum of 7 years of previous proven boring mill experience or 3 years in classification 6-2 (Boring Mill Operator) is required.
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings and have a good knowledge of machining processes, materials and cutting speeds.
- Perform the necessary calculations for machining complex parts (including knowledge of trigonometry).
- Must be able to do all types of set-ups
