We are looking for an Operations Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for managing all manufacturing activities and have an inspirational leadership that has the objective of achieving the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy its annual goals and targets.

You will be responsible for:
  • the safe, efficient, and quality completion of all manufacturing activities in the plant, including production, assembly, warehouses, shipping, and receiving
  • Manage, train, and motivate employees to ensure that objectives and KPIs are met, and that performance meets expectations
  • Demonstrating a proactive approach to continual improvement
  • Optimizing costs and performance through Lean methods and processes
  • Communicating effectively across all levels within the organization, from production personnel through senior management
  • Implementing all corporate policies and procedures, and collective agreement provisions; including Health and Safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Adhering to established QA/QC policies and practices; identifying and escalating deviations that could compromise product quality
  • Coordinating production, drive process problem solving, and adjusting production schedules to ensure commitments are achieved; promptly communicate delays or concerns and action plans;
  • Analyzing processes and making recommendations on resource levels and work shifts to ensure throughput supports defined goals
  • Liaising with Technical Services to ensure production readiness for timely execution.

Requirements

If you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably including a minimum of 5 years of experience in a unionized environment
  • Advanced Knowledge of relevant industrial manufacturing concepts practices and procedures
  • Excellent Knowledge of ISO 4501 (Health and Safety) and 14001 (Environment)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable shifting from tactical problem-solving to bigger-picture strategic thinking
  • Excellent abilities in planning, leadership, and change management
