As an industrial painter-coater, you will be responsible for preparing metal or composite surfaces for the application of paint or other coatings using various methods: chemical preparation (mixing chemical substances to form specific paints), mechanical preparation (using specialized machines, particularly for powder or granular paints) or preparation by spraying abrasives (plastic beads, walnut shells, steel shot, etc.), as well as sanding parts.You will be called upon to apply coatings on all kinds of surfaces of parts or equipment in industry (e.g.: components of metallurgical structures, valves of all kinds made of metal) or composite materials (fiberglass) or metal and plastic or metal and composites or plastic and composites, etc.
You will be responsible for :
- Select the appropriate paint or paint mixture using automatic paint mixers according to pre-determined formulas;
- Prepare and mix paint solutions and other coatings according to formulas or specifications;
- Operate automatic spray, dip, drip, or other mechanical painting or coating processes;
- Operate 2 computer systems, for painting procedures
- Operate hand-held spray guns to paint fixed objects or objects moving on a conveyor to apply protective or decorative coatings;
- Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protection equipment;
- Inspect and verify paint quality and touch up as necessary.

Requirements
- Technical School Certificate.
- Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience related to the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of shop drawings.
- Able to interpret the dimensions and other quality requirements as per Q.C. instructions.
- Good knowledge of paints and their characteristics.
