You like to provide technical advice on welding procedure.
You are looking to participate in research and development for the development of new products or technologies.
You want to respond to technical questions from production personnel regarding his field of expertise.

Requirements

If you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Mechanical or Materials science Engineering.
  • Qualified candidate must be Canadian citizen and able to satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Must be a member of OIQ or in the process of becoming one (a registered professional engineer in other Canadian provinces who is eligible to be member of OIQ will be considered)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding engineering (Experience credits can be granted for a superior training in welding such as a master’s degree in welding or metallurgical engineering)
  • Must have working experience in the most usual welding processes.
  • Must have technical knowledge in metallurgy, heat treatment, casting, forging and material specifications.
  • Knowledge of welding and materials codes such as ASME section III, VIII and IX, ASME B31.1, B31.3 and B16.34, Military, ASTM, and European welding standards.
  • Must be fluent with computer systems and software (Microsoft Office, Database Systems, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ERP considered an asset
  • Certified Welding Inspector considered an asset.
  • Bilinguisme (French and English)
  • Solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and organization skills
