Total Improvement Process Coordinator

Job Description

The TPI Coordinator elaborates, coordinates and takes part in continuous improvement projects pertaining to the manufacturing processes and the products. He or she will be responsible for the design and the installation of the required tools and equipment in order to improve productivity, quality and on time delivery according to the Lean Manufacturing approach. The candidate will act as a technical resource for production/maintenance staff, and will coordinate the capital projects.
 
Main responsibilities:
 
  • Coordinate and take part in continuous improvement activities. Evaluate objectives, problems, activities to be performed, results, and corrective measures to be taken where necessary;
  • Target, analyze and assess the feasibility and the profitability of improvement projects;
  • Develop, design and coordinate activities related to the installation of new equipment and machinery;
  • Determine important control parameters in production; build practices and procedures in order to ensure control of the process;
  • Make sure that projects respect environmental standards;
  • Assign, if needed, mandates to subcontractors.
  • Manage the business improvement suggestion system and lead its management committee
  • Take part in the problem resolution process related to operation;
  • Participate in Kaizen activities.

Requirements

  • Technical College degree in industrial engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience (a combination of related experience and training could be considered);
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Good knowledge of CAD/CAM (Catia or Autocad would be an asset) and of manufacturing management;
  • Experience in a company manufacturing machined parts;
  • Capacity to manage several projects at the same time;
  • Knowledge of « Lean » concepts and principles. Preference will be given to candidates with recognized certifications, ex.: Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt;
  • Fluency in French (oral and written), Functional English.
