Job Description

Reporting to the VP, IT and Strategic Planning, this management role is responsible for Technology services across the organization and in ensuring optimal information technology programs, processes, systems, and services. The scope of the portfolio includes enterprise systems (ERP), applications, infrastructure, end user support, and vendor management.


Major responsibilities:
 
  • Develop an IT strategy that supports business growth and increase IT effectiveness. The strategy will cover IT infrastructure, enterprise-wide business solutions, and end-user services.
  • Effectively leads the planning and managing computer operations and production support, systems and database administration, network operations, PC/desktop support and helpdesk
  • Ensures systems performance and SLA are met
  • Manages IT resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands
  • Leads IT asset management to ensure asset's full lifetime cycle value is achieved, and manages strategic relationships with key IT product and services providers
  • Provides in-depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives
  • Directs teams of technical, professional and management staff in the successful fulfillment of IT service delivery commitments
  • Oversees the execution of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise
  • Prepares and manages the IT budget, forecasts and monitors expenditures
  • Directs IT risk evaluation and compliance management processes to ensures best practices in the development of policies, standards and controls related to operational efficiency, compliance, risk mitigation, and security
  • Drives IT infrastructure planning, engineering and deployment.

  • Manages and develops direct reports, fosters teamwork, manages change and ensures effective communication within the department and across the organization
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools and appropriate professional designations.
  • May assume executive responsibilities during VP’s absence

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • PMP certification is an asset
  • 15 or more years in IT and business/industry
  • 5 to 7 years of leadership responsibility in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in managing infrastructure and operations
