Business Partner, Supply Chain

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement Operations, the incumbent will act as the face of procurement and “go to” person for the plant GMs for any supply chain related activities (being part of, and an active participant in, the plant GM's site leadership team). He/She will represent procurement operations and communicate operational requirements, challenges, key priorities to supply chain management with best value and customer service in mind.
 
The incumbent will also be responsible for performance and initiatives by implementing supply chain management best practices, by problem solving, and by improving processes to achieve targeted on-time-delivery.
 
Main Responsibilities
 
  • Be the primary point of contact for Procurement for a specific manufacturing facility.
  • Represent Supply Chain in weekly Key project management governance meetings.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs, priorities, and context.
  • Analyze the supply chain to meet production plan deliveries.
  • Provide procurement expertise and insight to operations (market analysis, material cost, delivery forecast reports, etc.).
  • Monitor key project progress and take action to manage the supply chain in order to meet the production plan.
  • Engage in proactive initiatives to resolve tactical supply chain issues, including review of inventory strategies.
  • Understand and present how procurement activities impact the key metrics of the business, in support to the operation master plan.
  • Analyze and extract data from the MRP system; manipulate it to build complex reports.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement an action plan to achieve.
  • Work with contract Procurement Specialists to improve strategies on products.
  • Contribute and suggest process improvements with lean concept.
  • Support, participate and/or lead Procurement process improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate and ensure the steady progress to completion of a project by the efficient movement of materials, freight, etc. within our systems.
  • Challenge internal stakeholders on demand and/or specifications, based on requirements vs approved supply base capability/capacity.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other departments such as planning, production and engineering.

Requirements

Education
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
 
Experience
 
  • Minimum of five (5) years related buying experience or in production planning.
 
Knowledge and Competencies
 
  • Solid supply chain experience or in production planning.
  • Experience within MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems, PBI and Microsoft Office environment (notably with Word and Excel).
  • Team player.
  • Organizational skills; ability to manage priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Bilingual (French and English, written and spoken).
  • Persistent, autonomous and resourceful.
  • Comfortable in an ambiguous environment.
