Job Description

Velan is looking for a candidate to fill a position as Electrician Journeyman at its Granby plant.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreperson, the incumbent will be responsible for the proper operation, installation & preventive and corrective maintenance of the plant's electrical/electronic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Performs proper maintenance and adjustment of the plant's electrical/electronic systems;

- Ensures chronic preventive maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance and durability;

- Diagnoses and assists in correcting power failures in the plant's electrical/electronic systems, while maintaining a maintenance log;

- Collaborates on electrical/electronic equipment repair activities and liaises with subcontractors when necessary;

- Reports any problem that could compromise the service life of electrical/electronic equipment and contributes, if necessary, to the analysis of failures as well as the required corrective actions;

- Acts as an ambassador for workplace safety by contributing to the proper operation of the plant's electrical/electronic equipment;

- Undertakes all other related duties.

Requirements

Academic

- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Electricity;

- Skills card certifying the title of Electrician Journeyman from the Commission de la construction du Québec or Emploi-Québec;

- Certificate in electricity (equivalent to C license) (an asset).

Experience & Knowledge

- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical/electronic systems in a manufacturing environment, preferably on computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines (an asset);

- Gives crucial importance to the safety measures in force in the plant;

- Resourcefulness and autonomy.
