Job Description

Mandate
 
The Manager, Project Management is responsible for leading the team dedicated to the Severe Services Business Unit (SSBU) project orders. More specifically, the incumbent is accountable for the overall planning and execution of the full order portfolio and order administration activities.
 
Main Responsibilities
 
  • Determine the project management level of new orders.
 
  • Assign new orders to Project Leaders.
 
  • Ensure that all project orders are managed with rigor and discipline (development of master plan, continuous up-to-date project visibility, issues/risk management, scope change management) by using the Automated WBS and Project Visibility tools all while being ultimately accountable for his team’s performance (KPIs).
 
  • Support the team in the governance/escalation process and manage/expedite the customers when required.
 
  • Ensure that best standardized practices are applied for order administration activities.
 
  • Make financial decisions on behalf of the SSBU (e.g., LD approvals, airfreight approvals, cancellation charges, customer scope changes, etc) based on DOA protocol.
 
  • Support and contribute significantly to the development and deployment of the Valve Project Management (VPM) Initiative.
 
  • Meet On-Time Deliveries (OTD) and Average Days Late (ADL) targets for its order portfolio.
 
  • Display a high standard of professionalism in behavior and rigor in quality of the team’s deliverables.
 
  • Launch initiatives to address the gaps/ «grey areas».
 
  • Coach the team to continuously display a high level of excellence in leadership.

Requirements

Education
 
  • University degree in operations, engineering or administration
  • PMP certification is an asset.
Experience
 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience including 5 in project management or equivalent.
 
Knowledge and Competencies
 
  • Perfectly bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong knowledge in MS Office Applications, and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
  • Experience in managing a project management group.
  • Demonstrated influence and team leadership.
  • Passion for Project Management.
  • Thorough and being able to work under pressure.
