Navy Project Specialist

Job Description

Mandate

Reporting to the VP, Engineering, the incumbent is technical project specialist for Navy business. The person will act the main point of contact for Navy documentation and quality. 

Main responsibilities
 
  • Revise and create Navy drawing updates as required.
 
  • Update all Navy drawings to comply with current standards and ensure seperation of common and commercial parts.
 
  • Maintain a database of Navy qualified designs notably with evidence of existing approvals, shock vibes, qualification cycle tests and qualified product lists.
 
  • Produce/revise new certification data sheets as required by new orders.
 
  • Participate in Navy design reviews.
 
  • Participate in product development initiatives for customer needs.
 
  • Upon request, escort clients, end-users and or those who represent the client (excluding local inspectors) into the plant.

Requirements

Education
  • Associates or Bachelor in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer preferred.
Experience
  • 5 to 10 years in a similar position.
  • 5 to 10 years in manufacturing with proven experience in managing engineering documents.
Knowledge and Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of valve manufacturing.
  • Strong Knowledge of Navy or Military business.
  • Strong knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with databases and ERP systems enquiry.
  • Good knowledge of document control procedures such as ECO/ECN.
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Very good written and verbal communication.

Other requirements
  • US Citizenship and ability to comply with required background check.
  • Travel required to facilitate transition.
