Job Description

Mandate
Under the Manager, Corporate Maintenance, and within the industrial engineering team, the technician is responsible for troubleshooting and correcting the equipment used for the production of valves in collaboration with mechanics, production machinists, CNC programmers and the technology department of information (IT).
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to technicians, programmers, machinists, and colleagues responsible for maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot CNC machines.
  • Modify and improve controllers and interfaces (machine safety, data collection).
  • With the digital manufacturing engineer, integrate CNC and conventional machines to Industry 4.0 (IIoT) (Cimco DNC MaxClient, MOXA, mfgStudio).
  • With the IT department, prepare and maintain user stations (Cimco terminals).
  • Contact external subcontractors for technical support.
Key Performance Indicator
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems and complete projects within a reasonable timeframe.
Working Conditions
  • Plant work environment.
  • Overtime required in peak periods.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma of college studies (Quebec Cegep) in electrical engineering or any other related field.
 
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in automation and troubleshooting of automated and numerically controlled machines.

Knowledge
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Mastery of main digital controls such as Fanuc, Mazatrol, Matrix, Tosnuc.
  • Good knowledge of the Code-G language and MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of electrical, automation and electronics.
  • General knowledge of machine tools.
Skills
  • Ability to solve technical problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a multidisciplinary team.
