Velan is looking for a candidate to fill a Welder Specialist position at its Granby plant.Reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing, the incumbent will perform tasks related to welding (mostly GTAW – TIG) and in-plant assembling to support the production of industrial valves and fittings.
The available work shifts are the following: EVENING and/or NIGHT shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding work for the manufacture and assembly of valves;
- Read the plans and drawings for the assembly of certain parts;
- Ensure that the highest possible quality and conformity of parts is maintained and, if necessary, report any imperfections to the required resource persons;
- Maintain the cleanliness of his/her work area and the proper functioning of his/her tools and equipment;
Requirements
Qualifications and skills- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in welding and assembly;
- 4 years experience in pressure vessel welding;
- The candidate must have experience in GTAW (required) and GMAW processes, with X-Ray quality, subject to the qualifications of the Department of Labour of the Province of Quebec;
- Experience with the PTA and SAW processes (an asset);
- Drawings reading.
Note: A practical and/or theoretical test may be required of the candidate(s).
