Product and development Technician/Technologist

Passionate about prototype development and new technologies, the Product and development Technician/Technologist supports all initiatives related to the development and launch of new products. Beyond the execution, he will have to analyses and understands the different problematics to identify and propose solutions- Manage and execute product/technology development projects in an R&D laboratory environment
- Able to meet strict deadlines and work closely with interdepartmental teams (Design group, Marketing department, Industrialization department, Operations, etc.)
- Prepare technical documents, in particular design of experiments, qualification procedures, test reports and to make recommendations to improve the performance and/or reduce the cost of products
- Perform prototype qualifications using manual and computer-controlled instruments
- Program and run R&D equipment (boiler, heating unit, cryogenic tank, mass spectrometer, universal tensile machine, Charpy impact, tribometers and microscope, etc.) as well as laboratory instruments (load, displacement, strain and temperature)
- Participate in the design, modification, improvement and automation of different test benches
- Follow the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) best practices and company procedures
- Be an actor of the laboratory lean transformation
Requirements
EDUCATION:Diploma of College Studies in Engineering Technologies or equivalent (DEC génie mécanique) or;
Diploma of College Studies in Physical Technologies (DEC Technique Technologie Physique)
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 3 years in an R&D environment
Minimum 3 years in a similar position
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge and/or experience with valves, fittings, pressure vessel an asset
Knowledge and/or experience in R&D testing, design, product development, and data acquisition system (National Instruments, Allen Bradley)
Knowledge of Industrial valve standards an asset
Curious, analytical and open to new technologies
Intermediate and up with EXCEL and WORD
Fluently bilingual in English and French
Ability to prepare technical reports in English
