Position Description
Located in Houston, Texas, the candidate will be responsible identifies key target markets in conjunction with vertical heads and marketing for project work that have not been served by Velan. He or she will be accountable for business development that requires licensing or approval of new accounts, new products, new solutions or applications, new AML and new license approval. He or she will constantly hunting for potential new markets and clients and will not be tasked with closing orders or account management.

Main functions

Builds relationships with clients, identifies their unique needs and determines how Velan can best serve the client
Understand the customer and their needs, and effectively work with engineering team to offer insight and intelligence with respect to customer demands
Works closely with engineering to begin developing custom solutions for new clients
Develops an action plan to ensure Velan has the requisite license approvals needed to work in the new niche market
Begins the sales process by working with potential clients to get Velan products approved on project specifications
Makes a calculation on required investment and projected returns and gains agreement for the investment, resources, and actions required to develop a new niche market
Creates awareness and demand for company products
Cooperate with other sales staff to create a common plan and approach to the newly developed market
Hands a warm lead to Sales Representative or Key Account Manager for him/her to close the initial sale and cultivate the relationship further

Requirements

Master degree in Business or Engineering
10 years or more of experience in a similar role
Valve Market and competitor knowledge
Product Knowledge
Program / project management skills and experience
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Deep understanding of the worldwide energy market
Significant experience with key EPCs
