A.K. Velan celebrated his 98th birthday on Monday, February 8, 2016. 

After working for 65 years in the company he founded, AK now spends his time relaxing at home with his wife Olga and February 22 will be their 75th wedding anniversary. 

They came as immigrants to Canada in 1949 with two children and the family has grown to include 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
